REAL LIFE APPLICATION OF OUR ENGINEERING TEAM

The institutional and human resource knowledge held through Lundy Management Group’s engineering team allows for critical expertise vital to our clients’ success. Leveraging these specialized skills and decades of experience ensures continued safety, compliance and high quality of care. This knowledge allows LMG to maintain accreditation standards and operational efficiency across our portfolio. Our specialized workforce is thoroughly experienced in managing both healthcare and business facilities to best keep these properties operational.

  • Partnership in Action: LMG was entrusted with constructing North Carolina’s first COVID-19 Testing Center in the parking lot of an existing Ambulatory Care Center.  Not only did LMG provide the on-site personnel to complete the project with State Construction permits in one weekend, but Lundy also extended the capital funds to ensure its success.

  • Emergency Response and Fire Watch: In 2021, a critical operations facility of over 198,000 square feet (about twice the area of a Manhattan city block) experienced a mechanical fire pump failure. Lundy quickly coordinated the deployment of a pumper truck and performed around-the-clock emergency fire watch and inspection for 72 hours, ensuring the facility could continue operations without interruption.

  • Providing solutions for compliance: The Lundy Engineering team with extensive HVAC expertise played a crucial role in redesigning an unpermitted Clean Room to meet current compliance standards, including the integration of redundant systems. A new HVAC system was installed, while Lundy suggested keeping the existing HVAC system as back-up.  This approach resulted in cost savings of $63,500 on equipment alone to the owner.

  • Crisis Management: LMG’s property management team has dealt with a wide range of emergencies over the years. In one case, after a tragic event in an LMG-managed building parking lot, our team was first on the scene and quickly arranged for a crime scene clean-up company. LMG set up a barrier and tents and tarps to ensure privacy and manage the media with professionalism.

  • Pre-Opening Support: Lundy stepped up when a 150,000-SF medical building was under construction and was at risk of not being ready for their opening. Lundy quickly took on additional tasks, such as installing all necessary medical equipment in patient rooms and setting up break room appliances, including refrigerators and microwaves. Our dedicated team worked tirelessly for two weeks, including weekends, to ensure the medical building was fully operational and ready to serve staff and patients from Day 1.

  • Response to Security Threats: Security is a part of managing a property. When an armed man tried to force his way into an LMG-managed building, the facility was immediately put on lockdown. LMG responded by securing the site after the police resolved the situation, repairing the damaged door and ensuring the safety of everyone involved.
